"Yu Darvish's arrival in Surprise for Rangers spring training Tuesday gave the righty his first opportunity for an extended introduction to his new teammates. And so far, the reviews have been nothing but positive.
"He's a rock star," Yoshinori Tateyama told MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan. "The environment is very similar here to Japan. I don't think he cares that much about it."
Tateyama would likely know better than anyone in the Rangers organization. He and Darvish were teammates for six seasons on the Nippon-Ham Fighters in Japan, and just last year Tateyama endured the same transition Darvish is currently going through, albeit with substantially less attention."
